Hi, I'm a Sam
I’m a creative from Hastings, UK. For the past 6 years, I’ve worked in marketing across a varied mix of clients and projects, spending most of my time behind a desk. Alongside that, I’ve been building towards turning my skills as an all-round artist into a full-time career. Now, I’ve left office life behind and taken the plunge into freelancing!
Where it started
From a very young age, I have always enjoyed being creative and continue to love expressing myself visually through my work as an artist. I also love problem-solving and really enjoy experimenting with and finding creative solutions to any challenge or hurdle. I have always loved drawing inspiration from other creative minds and projects, to better inform my own work and understanding of how to add depth to my work.
Inspiration
I love the work of the Renaissance masters, especially Michelangelo. H R Giger is also a huge inspiration, and Caitlyn Hackett
Games
The Legend of Zelda is my favourite fantasy world to explore. I also love a good turn-based strategy game!
Fuel
I am fuelled by spice, I love Mexican food. Eating it, cooking it, all of it. I also accept payment in burritos.
Vibes
But as much as I aim to be care-free and positive in my personal life, when it comes to my work and art, I can be a harsh-critic. In my opinion, any good piece of art should aim to visually astound audiences at first glance, with visible skill and time-taken to create it. For this reason, I hold myself to exceptionally high standards whether I’m creating work for myself or others… and I also have no qualms about expressing my opinion on AI ‘art’.
